Meet MS. McKamey
Hello! My name is Sherry McKamey and I am excited your child will be a part of my first grade classroom at Lone Oak Elementary. I am beginning my 32nd year of teaching, 30 of those years being with my Lone Oak Elementary “family”.
I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I started out teaching 3rd grade in Eastern Kentucky. Then, I moved to Paducah and taught first grade and loved it! However, over the next several years, I volunteered to switch to different grade levels as the need for more teachers at those levels arose. Finally, I was able to move back to first grade! I have spent the last 20 years teaching first grade and enjoy seeing the student progress made throughout the year.
I have degrees from Alice Lloyd College, Western Kentucky University, and
Murray State University. I have one daughter, Michelle who
attends Indiana University and is a member of the Indiana University Women's
Tennis Team. I am a huge sports fan and enjoy being outdoors.
